Cycas revoluta
Cycas revoluta, the Sago Palm, is a slow-growing cycad with a powerful architectural presence. Its symmetrical, feathered fronds and textured trunk trunk make it one of the most recognisable and long-lived landscape plants. Extremely tough and adaptable.
Specifier notes. Selected on architectural projects for its strong line and disciplined form. Holds its own as a standalone feature where form and presence matter more than mass.
Site & establishment. Drought tolerance is established once the root mass has cleared the original container; deep, infrequent watering builds it.
How we supply it. Slow growth means it holds form for years without rampant pruning — ideal for formal, tightly-budgeted maintenance. Long-lived once established, justifying the larger size grade on heritage and civic schemes.
Cape Nursery production. All Cape Nursery stock is grown 7 km from the Pacific Ocean, hardened to coastal sun and wind from propagation rather than acclimatised at point of sale. Specimens leave us biosecurity-traceable, and root-checked. National delivery is available; collection from Ewingsdale is welcomed Mon–Thu 7:30am–4pm.
